The Range Rover Sport is all-new for 2014. It has new styling influenced by the fashion forward Evoque, and an all aluminium chassis that saves 370 kg versus the outgoing model. The Range Rover Sport takes the proven Range Rover package then trims out some length (cargo space only), lowers the roof, and adds some starch to the suspension. The Range Rover Sport's interior puts it ahead of the Audi Q7, BMW X5 or Porsche Cayenne, and the styling is miles ahead of the Volvo XC90. It also keeps the off-road capability that Range Rover is legendary for.
There are four trims available, SE and HSE which come with a 3.0L supercharged V6 making 340 hp and Supercharged and Autobiography with have a 5.0L supercharged V8 making 510 hp. All trims have an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive.
SE comes with air suspension, start/stop, hill descent control, rain sensing wipers and automatic xenon headlights, a tow package, and 19-inch wheels. The cabin has leather seats with 14-way power adjustment, a power adjustable steering column, front and rear parking sensors with cameras, an eight speaker stereo with 8.0-inch touchscreen, dual USB ports, navigation and a 5.0-inch info display in the dash. A low range transfer case is optional on SE and HSE.
HSE adds a panoramic sliding roof, fog lights, 20-inch wheels, and heated and perforated leather seats. In addition to the 510 hp V8, the Supercharged trim has a standard low range transfer case, terrain response with adaptive suspension and torque vectoring.
Top of the line Autobiography has unique exterior trim, a heated windshield, adaptive headlights, 21-inch wheels, and, more notably, an upgraded interior with trim specific leather and patterns, 16-way power seats, ventilated front and heated rear seats. There is also a surround view camera and the stereo is upgraded to a Meridian surround sound with 825-watts and eight speakers. All trims have a massive range of exterior and interior colour choices, with up to eleven different interiors, depending on the trim. Range Rover Sport is rated to get 14.2 L/100 km city and 10.2 L/100 km highway with the V6 and 16.6/12.3 with the V8.
